Travel News
United Add 3 New Routes (LINK)
Thereâs nothing better than seeing airlines add new flights, especially when theyâre to places that donât currently have direct service.
Some of these airports had nonstop routes with other carriers, but they were cut a while back.
So itâs exciting to see new options to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam, and Bangkok, Thailand, now available again.
This time as 5th freedom flights (flights between two countries that arenât the airlineâs home base), connecting through Hong Kong.

3 New United Routes
Even better, these flights will be bookable via United with departures from SFO and LAX, making Asia a lot more accessible.
Also cool to see Adelaide, Australia added to the list, another city that doesnât often get love when it comes to new long haul routes.
While award redemptions through United will probably be on the higher side, itâs worth checking availability through Air Canada Aeroplan, where you might get a better deal.
Fiji Adopts AA Program (LINK)
Itâs official, Fiji Airways is now a full fledged member of the Oneworld Alliance, and theyâve adopted AAdvantage miles as their main loyalty currency.
Itâs nice to see they didnât come in with their own separate points system and instead partnered with American Airlines.
While AA miles can be a bit harder to earn, donât forget you might still be able to book those same Fiji Airways flights through Alaska Airlines and often for fewer miles 75k vs 80K AA miles.

I talked about this in đŠī¸ Flying to Fiji? where you could score a business class flight from Dallas to Fiji for just 75K Alaska miles.
And remember, Alaska allows free stopovers, which adds even more value.
Also, since you can still convert Hawaiian miles to Alaska miles, if youâve got Amex points, you can transfer them to Hawaiian, then over to Alaska, and still take advantage of some great redemption opportunities.

đ¤ Hack
A lot of places in Europe donât accept Amex. To get around this add your Amex to your wallet app and pay with your phone or watch.

Iâve spent all week putting together guides to help you navigate your 100K welcome bonus from how to maximize the points, to common mistakes to avoid, and even which business class flights you can book with 100K points.
I also covered the best ways to stretch that bonus and some solid hotel redemptions that youâd be able to book.
If any of those guides help you out, show me some love and hit that like and follow button, it really does help!
